Union with Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ as Head of the Church.
Eph 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed
him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the
fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

The Lord's Dominion:
Is Eternal.
Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the
government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no
end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and
upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The
zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Da 7:14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all
peoples, nations and men of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an
everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will
never be destroyed.
Is Universal.
Zec 9:10 I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war
horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace
to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the
ends of the earth.
Is Over Nature.
Mt 8:27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is
this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
Mk 1:27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other,
"What is this? A new teaching - and with authority! He even gives orders to
evil spirits and they obey him."
Jn 3:35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his
hands.
Is Over The Church.
Eph 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed

Is Over Heavenly Powers.
1 Pe 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand -
with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

The Lord Jesus Christ is in Charge of the
Church.

Eph 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things
grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head
of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the
beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might
have the supremacy.
Col 2:19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole
body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God
causes it to grow.

The Lord Jesus Christ is King.
Ps 2:6 "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."

you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared
for you since the creation of the world.
Lk 1:33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom
will never end."
Jn 1:49 Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God;
you are the King of Israel."
Jn 18:37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate.
Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact,
for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to
the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
1 Co 15:25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under
his feet.

The Church.
Is Called the Body of Christ.
Ro 12:5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each
member belongs to all the others.
1 Co 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a
part of it.
Eph 1:23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything
in every way.
Eph 4:12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the
body of Christ may be built up
Col 1:24 Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in
my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake
of his body, which is the church.
Col 2:19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole

The Fullness of Christ.
Jn 1:16 From the fullness of his grace we have all received one
blessing after another.

Eph 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of
the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness

Col 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

Spiritual Growth.
Eph 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all
things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole
body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds
itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Commanded:
In Fruitfulness.
2 Co 9:10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food
will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of
your righteousness.
Into Christ.
Eph 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all
things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
In Love.
1 Th 3:12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for
each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
1 Th 4:10 And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout
Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.
To Perfection.
Heb 6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about
Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from
acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,
Through the Word.
1 Pe 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that
by it you may grow up in your salvation,
By Accretion.
2 Pe 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your
faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
2 Pe 1:6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control,
perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
In Grace and Knowledge.
2 Pe 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Spiritual Maturity.
How Secured:
By Putting Away Childish Things.
1 Co 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought
like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways
behind me.
By Cultivating the Understanding.
1 Co 14:20 Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to
evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.
By Striving After the Christ Ideal.
Eph 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of
the fullness of Christ.
By Partaking of the Deeper Truths of the Gospel.
Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use
have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
By Overcoming Temptation.
1 Jn 2:14 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who
is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and
the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

Truthfulness.
The duty of truthfulness.
Pr 12:19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts
only a moment.
Zec 8:16 These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each
other, and render true and sound judgement in your courts;
Malachi 2:6 True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was
found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many
from sin.
2 Co 12:6 Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool,
because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more
of me than is warranted by what I do or say.
Eph 4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak
truthfully to his neighbour, for we are all members of one body.
Eph 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your
waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

Spiritual Progress.
Is a Characteristic of the Righteous.
Job 17:9 Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and
those with clean hands will grow stronger.
Ps 84:7 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before
God in Zion.
Ps 92:12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow
like a cedar of Lebanon;
Pr 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
2 Co 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's
glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which
comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
1 Ti 4:15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them,
so that everyone may see your progress.

Spiritual Love.
The Pr-eminence of Love.
1 Co 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But
the greatest of these is love.
Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision
has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through
love.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Eph 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I
pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
Eph 3:18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how
wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
Eph 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may
be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Eph 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every

work.
Eph 5:2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave
himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Unity of Believers.
In Christ.
Ro 12:5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each
member belongs to all the others.
1 Co 10:17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body,
for we all partake of the one loaf.
1 Co 12:12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and
though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor
female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Pre-eminence of Christ.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the
beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might
have the supremacy.
Mt 3:11 "I baptise you with water for repentance. But after me
will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.
He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Jn 3:31 "The one who comes from above is above all; the one who
is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The
one who comes from heaven is above all.
Jn 13:13 "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for
that is what I am.
Ac 2:36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has
made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
Ro 14:9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that
he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

Heb 1:4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has
inherited is superior to theirs.
Heb 3:3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honour than Moses, just
as the builder of a house has greater honour than the house itself.
Heb 8:6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs
as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is
founded on better promises.
Rev 1:11 which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it
to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis,
Philadelphia and Laodicea."

Resurrection of Christ.
Emphasised in the Epistles.
Ro 1:4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with
power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Ro 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to
life for our justification.
Ro 6:9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he
cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.
Ro 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is
Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved.
1 Co 15:4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures,
1 Co 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile;
you are still in your sins.
Eph 1:20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead
and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
1 Th 4:14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe
that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
2 Ti 2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from
David. This is my gospel,
1 Pe 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In
his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Pe 3:18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the
unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive
by the Spirit,
